Aegean partners with Emirates for codeshare flights
Aegean is expanding its network by adding flights to Dubai and soon to New York – Emirates passengers will be able to travel – via Athens – to 8 Greek destinations
Emirates and Aegean have announced the launch of a codeshare flight partnership, enabling their passengers to benefit from increased connectivity between the two companies.
Through the partnership, Emirates facilitates the booking process for its passengers, while also maintaining a single baggage policy for flights to popular destinations, such as: Alexandroupolis, Heraklion, Thessaloniki, Corfu, Mykonos, Rhodes, Santorini and Chania.
Expansion of the Aegean network
Aegean, for its part, is further expanding its network and enabling its passengers to benefit from the increased connectivity of the Emirates network to international destinations via Dubai, with flights between Dubai and Athens operated by Emirates and short-haul flights to New York and Newark Airport. Passengers can make flight reservations through the airlines’ websites emirates.com and aegeanair.com, or through travel agents.
European destinations via Athens
In addition, from October 2022, Emirates and Aegean will further strengthen their joint network, aiming to include eight additional European destinations for flights via Athens, including, among others, Bucharest, Belgrade and Naples, as well as routes concerning Emirates flights from Athens to New York New York Airport and from Milan to New York JFK.
Today, Emirates serves Athens with 12 weekly flights, operated by Boeing 777 aircraft. Aegean has a network of 138 destinations (29 domestic and 109 international) in 44 countries, as well as a fleet of 64 aircraft, including the brand new AIRBUS A320 and A321 neo. Additional codeshare flights are subject to regulatory approvals.
Emirates through its codeshare partnerships with more than 26 airlines, including Aegean, two partnerships with companies active in rail transport as well as 110 interconnection partnerships worldwide, connects its passengers to all 6 continents.
