Private sector building activity fell by 6.7 percent in July 2022, compared with the corresponding month in 2021, Greece’s statistics authority announced on Thursday
Specifically, a total of 2,224 new building permits were issued in July 2022, representing 504,407 square meters of proposed surface area, down 3.2 percent and 25.6 percent, respectively, compared to the same month in 2021.
Over the January-July period, private sector building activity grew by a marginal 0.6 percent in terms of new permits, but dropped by 14.2 percent in terms of surface area, compared with the corresponding seven-month period of 2021.
