A 40-year-old man has died after being seriously injured in the head in a car accident while at Ippokratios Politia affected by the Great Fire
A 40-year-old man died after sustaining serious injuriesd in the head while in the state of Hippocrates, Ippokratios Politia affected by the Great Fire.
The man was riding a motorcycle when he slipped in water from fire trucks, causing him to fall on the road and hit his head.
Firefighters who were at the scene provided first aid and administer CPR.
Then, there was a rush to find an ambulance and transport the man from Ippokratios Politia to KAT hospital, under extremely difficult conditions.
Unfortunately, he did not make it. According to information from OPEN television, in fact, the unfortunate man is said to have been a volunteer firefighter who had been at the scene to assist in the firefighting.
Other injuries
It should be noted that the Minister of Health Vassilis Kikilias had earlier relayed information about the injured from the fires in Attica and Evia.
“We have transported 9 cases in hospitals in Athens, 5 burn victims, one injured and 3 of our fellow citizens with respiratory problems, using the ambulance service.
Also, from North Evia we have transported 11 cases to the Istiaia Health Center. If and when the need arises, our fellow citizens will be transferred from the Istiaia Health Center, probably, to the Lamia Hospital.
Also, since yesterday, at 3:30 in the morning, we started the evacuation of the nursing home “Nea Thalpi” in the area of Agios Stefanos, 47 of our fellow citizens who are bed-ridden and were transported throughout the night by EKAB ambulances to “Pammakaristos” and “Hope”.
“I came here today, with the management of the hospital and the directors at KAT, to see our burnt volunteer firefighters, to be informed about the progress of their health and then to inform the prime minister”, the Minister of Health concluded.
