Covid-19 Greece: 51,184 infections in the first week of Oct.; 109 deaths

Public health authorities in Greece on Tuesday confirmed 51,184 new Covid-19 infections in the country for the first week of October 2022, with the total number of reported and confirmed infections in Greece totaling 5,026,494.
This is equivalent to 4,906 infections per one million people during the specific week (weekly change: -7 percent), with 23 percent of the weekly new infections being re-infections.
Additionally, another 109 deaths from Covid-19 were reported in the same week, or 10 fatalities per one million people (weekly change: 24 percent), bringing the total number of victims since the pandemic began to 33,313.
Of the victims, 96 percent had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or more.
A total of 62 patients were intubated as of Oct. 9. Their median age is 70 years and 96.8 percent have an underlying condition and/or are 70 years old and over.
