PayPal study – 89% of Greek net users queried purchase supermarket goods online

A recent PayPal study focusing on 12 European countries, including Greece, found that a whopping 89 percent of Greek respondents are already ordering non-durable goods online, with this figure skyrocketing amid the pandemic.
Furthermore, 74 percent of this sample of Greek “netizens” said online purchases of supermarket goods stems from an effort to save time, while 57 percent said they planned to purchase Christmas dinner items online.
The study, carried out in September 20212 by Maru/Matchbox for PayPal, confirmed the veritable “explosion” in such online purchases by Internet users in Greece – the study did not focus on the overall consumer base – with 40 percent of respondents saying they also used PayPal for these transactions.
Convsersely, most respondents said they preferred in-store shopping when it comes to perishable goods.
