Greek PM at cabinet meeting: We have a difficult summer ahead of us
Preventive actions will be the focus of government planning
“We have a difficult summer ahead of us” said Kyriakos Mitsotakis during his introductory statement at the Cabinet meeting, saying that tomorrow and Thursday will be the difficult days, stressing that “we are all on full alert”.
“There are no magical actions”, he added characteristically, pointing out that the “state apparatus is fighting on many fronts”
“For the Mediterranean, which is a hotspot of climate change, there is no magic defense against fires. If there was, we would have implemented it.”

Also, Kyriakos Mitsotakis referred to the bill on the vote of expats which, as he said, is expected to be voted with a wide majority.
He made special reference to the bill of the Ministry of Finance which is being voted on in the Parliament, implementing as he said 50% of the commitments of the economic program.
The bill also concerns increases in the public sector, but also tax reliefs for citizens with children, a 10% reduction in ENFIA for those who have insured their homes for natural disasters, the extension of the market pass and for the coming months, and two interventions concerning young people, the youth pass and the doubling of the “My Home” program for young couples to acquire a home through a low-interest loan.
“We give a special mention to the controls by the Ministry of Development, we imposed significant fines on businesses that displayed misleading discounts. Let everyone know that we will be relentless,” he said characteristically and added: “We are facing a global inflation crisis. I emphasize that we emphasize the protection of workers, the children who work delivery in difficult conditions, we proved that the violation of the terms of protection of workers is not tolerated”
Regarding the annual recruitment planning, he said that they will exceed 16,000. Priority will be Health, specifically doctors, nurses and ambulance-EKAV staff
