Main opposition leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis today visited the areas of Eastern Attica that have been ravaged by the deadly 23 June wildfires.
During his visit to Mati, Mitsotakis instructed his security detail to bar the presence of television cameras, so that his presence would not be seen as a communications show for political gain.
During his tour of the area, Mitsotakis was informed by local residents and firefighters regarding the horrors that they had survived.
Earlier, Mitsotakis had instructed party cadres not to engage in political debate on the disaster with members of other parties, as a sign of respect towards those who have lost relatives and friends, and due to the three-day national mourning declared by the government.
