Development law: 70 investments worth 519 million euros in the pipelines

Seventy investment plans with an aggregate value of over half a billion euros were approved by the General Directorate of Private Investment for inclusion in the government’s development law, according to a temporary table issued by the finance ministry.
The investment plans were submitted by 62 different enterprises, two of which are in the process of being established. Τhey cover the sectors of tourism, food, beverages, and the aluminum industry, and are eligible for funding through inclusion in the General Entrepreneurship section of the development law.
Among the well-known companies that have submitted applications are Epirοtic Bottling Industry S.A., Manna bread company, Aluminco, Tsimis S.A. flexible packaging company, Melissa Kikizas mill and spaghetti company, Hellenic Milk (Sarantis Group) and Titan Cement.
Based on the table posted on the www.ependyseis.gr, it appears that the vast majority of participating enterprises are most interested in the tax breaks that are on offer.
New business plans that have been submitted in the General Entrepreneurship category are expected to be announced in the immediate future, and the results of applications in the small-and-medium-sized businesses and the machinery support categories are expected to be announced in early February.
In the General Entrepreneurship category, 496 business plans with an aggregate budget of 1.55 billion euros have been submitted.
Overall, 802 investment projects worth a total of 2.1 billion euros have applied to be included in the development law. Of these, 43 projects involve investments of 10 million euros or more.
There are 260 tourism-related applications that have been submitted with an aggregate budget of 982 million euros, 211 industrial investments worth 605 million euros, 260 applications for projects worth 405 million euros in the agri-food sector, and 71 applications concerning total investments of 130 million euros in the services sector.
