Great Days of Nemea are coming
An in-depth acquaintance with the unique Agiorgitiko wine
The Great Days of Nemea is an institution that has been taking place for the last 17 years (since 2004). The loyal audience, which have gained numbers all these years of the event, are looking forward every year for the first weekend of September, when the Great Days of Nemea take place.
The purpose of the event is to promote the wine wealth of the region and to give the wine-loving public the opportunity to get to know in depth the unique Agiorgitiko.
The wineries of the area have their doors open to the public, for which they organize a number of events, such as tastings, guided tours, food pairing seminars, concerts, presentations, games, etc.
Participation in the events is free, when there is no participation fee.
Besides, Nemea is a place with a long viticultural tradition and one of the most important wine-producing zones in Greece, while the PDO Nemea wine is based on the Agiorgitiko variety, one of the most dynamic Greek varieties.
This year, the Association of Winemakers of Nemea joined forces with the Gastronomic Community of Nemea with the aim of a highly tasty result through which the unique character of Agiorgitiko will be highlighted.
The Great Days of Nemea 2021 will begin on Friday, September 3 at 20:30 with the traditional Opening Ceremony.
A series of interesting presentations and discussions will take place in the courtyard of the City Hall:
– Gastronomy and wine.
– Analysis of the research program of Nemea.
– Presentation of the new PDO Nemea file but also of the Quality Label.
On Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 September 2021, from 11:00 in the morning until 19:00 in the afternoon, the Exhibition Hall of the Nemea Winemakers Association will be open for tasting.
