The anarchist group Rouvikonas has claimed responsibility for an attempted foray into the office of Independent Greeks MP Konstantinos Katsikis.
The group said they attempted to barge into his office in order to protest his homophobic statements, in which he likened homosexuality to paedophilia.
The group posted a statement on an anti-authority website.
“At 9:45am, comrades attempted to enter the office of MP Konstantinos Katsikis at [address and floor]. Unfortunately, the entry of the group into the MP’s office was not feasible. Everything that has been said about the event is a lie. Nobody entered the office hurling threats,” the statement read.
In the statement, the members of Rouvikonas attacked the MP for prior statements of his.
“When MP Katsikis identifies paedophilia with homosexuality, he is not at all quaint. He seeks and manufactures people of the same ilk to join him. Those with similar opinions will keep the torch of homophobia lit and will maintain discrimination and attacks, until the wheel turns and pure fascism can write new laws,” the group said.
