A top advisor to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Yigit Bulut, has claimed that Turkish forces removed a number of Greek flags from Aegean rock islets, and declared that it would be shameful for Turkey to go to war against Greece due to the major imbalance of power.

«Now, it would be embarrassing to wage a war against #Greece from a technical point of view. It almost like a grown man hitting a baby in the crib when looked at the balance of power between #Turkey and Greece», says president #Erdogan‘s chief advisor Yigit Bulut in state TV,” is how Turkish journalist Abdullah Bozkurt, the president of the Sdtockholm Center for Freedom who describes himself as an exiled journalist, quoted Bulut in a tweet.

Bulut said that Turks took down Greek flags from a number of rock islets at night, and not just one, as Turkish PM Binali Yildirim had stated.

Three Greek young men who had placed a flag on the islet Mikros Anthropofas, near Skyros, had said that they raised flags on other islets as well.

Bulut said Turkish authorities have been sent a video, but that has not been made public.

Greek government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos said that Greek authorities denied the removal of any flag from a Greek islet.
