The Greek government on Wednesday announced another easing of Covid-19-related restrictions, which essentially points to the end of a months-long lockdown in the east Mediterranean country – a development that comes two days before the official opening of the 2021 tourism season.
Among others, a citizen’s obligation to send SMS notifications in order to travel and move outdoors will be scrapped on Friday. The measure has been in place since November 2020.
Additionally, people may freely engage in inter-state travel as of Friday.
A lockdown-related curfew will also be rolled back, and apply from half an hour after midnight to 5 in the morning.
