Christopher Papakaliatis’ hit mini-series ‘Maestro in Blue’, which debuted on the Netflix platform for Greece several months ago, has now opened on the popular media streaming provider’s worldwide platform.

Maestro in Blue, set in the picturesque northern Ionian island of Paxos, was created for and first aired on the Athens-based Mega Channel.
On the occasion of its global premiere on Netflix, Papakaliatis addressed an open letter to his good friend and series star Maria Kavoyianni – posted on his Instagram account – thanking the veteran Greek actress for their long-time collaboration and hinting at projects to come.

The Greek actor, director and screenwriter writes:

“Letter to Maria. My dear Maria, I am writing to you from an airplane in America, where I came for some meetings in NY and LA for Maestro. I was watching the short video we made that day in Paxos and I was thinking that everything you wished for this series has finally came true. We may have been kidding, but in the end, Maestro opens today worldwide.

“My dearest Maria, as of today viewers who’ve never seen a Greek series will now have the opportunity to watch one in all countries, and in all languages… As of today, our series is playing in America, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Asia and Africa under the title ‘Maestro in Blue’.

“I’m writing all this now so I don’t forget, because with so much going on and work, I still haven’t had time to realize everything that has happening… and one last thing: I want to thank you for what you are (my good luck charm)…And you and all the actors and contributors and the production staff, as well as and Mega Channel in Greece, because we all contributed to make the series what it is.

“My dearest Maria, I’m coming back in a few days and if you’re in the village come back, because we have rehearsals, we’re starting shooting and in a short while we’ll be back on the island!!! Preparations are in full swing in Athens.

“PS. I sent you the first four episodes. Did you read them??? Be careful not to lose them anywhere or leak anything…As of today, we’re worldwide on Netflix – (if someone asks you from abroad) I love you.»
