PM presents three projects to upgrade the infrastructure in Kalamata
The three interventions
Three crucial decisions for the upgrade of the infrastructure of Kalamata and the Peloponnese in general were announced by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during his visit to the town hall of Messini, today.
The first intervention concerns the upgrade and expansion of the Kalamata – Rizomylos – Pylos – Methoni road axis through PPP, with a budget of 252 million euros. The tender process has progressed significantly and a temporary contractor has already been selected, while the contracting is expected to take place in the fall and the work is expected to be completed within five years.
The second concerns the tender for the concession of the Kalamata airport, in order to radically upgrade its infrastructure, so as to substantially improve the air connection with the region, for the benefit of the local community and the tourism industry.
Finally, the third intervention concerns the inclusion of biological waste-treatment infrastructure in the Public Investment Program. The biological treatment infrastructure is crucial for the area and the cost of the project reaches 15 million euros.
