Wait period in Greece between second to third dose of Covid-19 vaccine cut to three months
The decision affects all citizens above the age of 18.
Α top public health official in Greece on Friday afternoon announced that a relevant “blue chip” experts’ committee has decided to allow a third dose of vaccines against the Covid-19 virus after three months from the second dose.
The decision affects all citizens above the age of 18.
The decision comes after a request by the Greek government, aired by PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis no less, to reduce the period of time between the second and third dose, which was six months up until now.
According to the health ministry secretary of primary healthcare, Marios Themistocleous, the committee’s members re-examined the latest data concerning the Omicron variant and issued the new framework.
For those individuals that were vaccinated with the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, the wait time remains the same, i.e. two months.
