Education Minister – Thessaloniki International Fair – Priority to ensure the operation of schools
The dual goal of the Ministry of Education for the start of the school year
Education Minister Niki Kerameus, in an interview with the Athens-Madeconian News Agency (ANA) on Sunday, stressed that the ministry’s main concern is to keep schools open this year after a long-period of distance learning due to the pandemic.
“Our target is the physical attendance of schools. Our weapon is the vaccination and the additional health measures recommended by the experts committee such as intensive laboratory and self-diagnostic tests and the mandatory use of the mask,” she underlined.
Students and teachers will come to the school with a certificate of vaccination (for students 12 years and older) or a certificate of past illness (last six months) or a statement of negative self-test for students, which will be held twice a week ( Tuesday and Friday), up to 24 hours before school, or a negative laboratory test certificate for teachers, which should also be performed twice a week (Tuesday and Friday) at the employee’s own risk and expense.
