Shipwreck in Milos – All 17 passengers safe
The incident happened 16 nautical miles northwest of Milos, near Falconera while in the area prevailing winds of 4-5 Beaufort.
An alarm was sounded earlier in Milos after the news of a boat sinking with 17 passengers in the sea area off the island.
The salvation of people from aboard a yacht with a British flag is in progress.
The incident happened -according to the Coast Guard- 16 nautical miles northwest of Milos, near the Falconera shoals while winds of 4-5 Beaufort prevail in the area.
Four vessels, two Coast Guard helicopters, a Navy ship, an Air Force helicopter and other vessels immediately sailed to the area.
As the spokesperson of the Ministry of Shipping Nikos Kokkalas stated to ERT the incident involves a 30 meter yacht and the collection of people by a passenger ship has begun. As Mr. Kokkalas said, they themselves sounded the danger signal and stated that everyone is in good health.
