Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be making his first trip since his re-election to occupied Cyprus.
Erdogan will be inaugurating the Hala Sultan mosque, in the area Mia Milia, which is a 37,00o square metre structure, according to the DHA news service, as quoted by the Cyprus News Agency.
The mosque has four minarets, and it has a capacity of over 3,000 persons.
Its construction is seen as a bid to entrench Islamism in the occupied north, a move which has divided Turkish Cypriots.
Erdogan will also hold talks with Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci.
Turkish leaders have traditionally, following their election, taken their first trip abroad to occupied Cyprus, where Ankara maintains tens of thousands of troops.
