The special measures that the education ministry and the entire government are preparing as regards special, lower energy rates for universities, especially in northern Greece, are absolutely necessary.

Experts appear reassuring, attributing the rise in the number of reported cases among youngsters to the high volume of tests (twice weekly) and to the overall course of the epidemic.

The government must understand that visits and proclamations will not suffice and that it must implement the measures it announced post haste.

One cannot easily explain the rising incidence of extreme violence in schools and elsewhere, nor the indifference with which they are often met.

What one sees is the anxiety of the government to distribute hope and promises with a view towards elections, the date of which has not been announced, but which seem ever more in sight.
