A joint visit by businessman Ivan Savvidis and Defense Minister Panos Kammenos to Savvidis’ “E” private TV channel stirred a reaction from New Democracy.
The conservative main opposition party in a leak said that it is provocative for a businessman to declare, through his interpreters, that he proceeded with this purchase [of the TV station] with the sole objective of supporting any government in this country, and indeed at a moment that he was accompanied by a sitting minister of the current government.
It is also provocative, according to New Democracy, on the part of a sitting minister to accompany the main stockholder of a TV channel on his first visit to the station.
