Expansion of tele-work in both the private and public sectors will be up to 50 percent, and rolling work schedules will be implemented, according to the capabilities of services.

Plevris said prospective measures will include a nexus of restrictions in night-time entertainment, where there is crowding, and will not pertain to restaurants.The planned duration of the measures is 15 days.

Plevris repeatedly stressed that vaccination is the only way to beat back the surge in cases, and he presented the very tough restrictions on the unvaccinated as a measure to protect their health, as over 85 percent of COVID-19 patients being treated in overburdened ICUs are unvaccinated.

Plevris announced that the government will launch a campaign to persuade people in areas with an especially low vaccination rate (some are around 40 percent, particularly in Northern Greece) to get the jab.
