Delinquent taxes

According to One Channel, Mitsotakis in his second and final address before the vote of confidence, on the eve of the first anniversary of the Mati wildfire which claimed 102 lives, will announce relief measures for residents.

With over four million citizens – professionals and businessmen – with delinquent debts, one can easily surmise the dire straits in which a large swathe of Greek society finds itself.

The total amount of debt of households and businesses to the state was an astronomical 103bn euros, which along with fines amounts to 185bn euros.

There are 41,232 taxpayers with tax debts of over 100,000 euros to the state, a total of 91bn euros, while the largest chunk of back taxes derives from business tax accounts
