Greece’s world rings champion Eleftherios Petrounias won the gold medal at the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) World Cup that is being held in Doha.
Friday’s gold medal was a perfect start for the Greek champion this year, who also won the gold at the games held in Glasgow in October.
Petrounias was awarded 15,875 points for his routine (the same one he presented in October), leaving Armenians Vahagn Davtyan (15,800 pts) and Artur Tovmasyan (15,775 pts) in second and third place respectively.
The President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos congratulated the Greek world champion and highlighted his world-class sportsmanship and exemplary character.
