Harbor Lab: Over 300 ships on the company platform

The Greek start Up Harbor Lab welcomed the 300th ship the online platform for management of port expenses (disbursements accounting-DA), in June .

The achievement came 15 months after the software company launched the DA processing solution for the shipping industry, which gives shipowners access to dealers and sellers in ports around the world, reducing back office costs and bureaucracy by 75%.

In the first year of operation, the Harbor Lab DA system was used to process more than 4000 “calls” in ports. It provides transparency to the management company regarding the port costs that will arise during the ship’s stay at port.

Expenses

The company’s port analysts, a team of tech people and experienced shipping executives, research and export methods that calculate all port costs for all ports worldwide, based on official port tariffs for all types of ships.

Harbor Lab has digitized all the data for the “port” and their validity is achieved through daily communication with companies around the world.

Through the platform, end users receive a transparent overview of port costs, including port charges (loading / unloading, navigation), warehouse prices, spare parts, and more.

Harbor Lab CEO and founder, Antonis Malaxianakis stated, among other things, that “we are pleased to welcome the 300th ship to our platform. When we started Harbor Lab last year, we set ourselves the goal of celebrating our 20th ship in December. In June we exceeded our target by 1000%. It is wonderful to know that so many management companies are already taking advantage of our platform, reducing bureaucracy and controlling port costs.”
