The discussion on the policy statements of the Greek government continues today with speeches by political leaders, ministers and MPs. The proceedings started earlier this morning with Golden Dawn MP George Germenis, chaired by Mr. Alexis Mitropoulos and will end tonight with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ speech and vote for the parliamentary voting for a confidence vote to the Greek government.
During his speech on Monday Greek finmin Yanis Varoufakis tried once again to establish lines of communication with Greece’s partners, but also the opposition, and reiterated the reasons why the government refuses to sign an extension of the existing program and asks for a bridging agreement.
ANEL President and Defence Minister Panos Kamenos pledged to restore all wage injustices on the executives of the Greek Armed Forces and Army retirees, and to take beneficial measures for the children of families that were affected by the crisis.
Evangelos Venizelos attacked the government, which he accused for not having a negotiation plan with its partners and seeking to impress with regional meetings, which collapse under the negotiations with Greece’s institutional partners.
Communist Party General Secretary Dimitris Koutsoubas accused the Greek PM of siding with those responsible for the country’s plight, and for bringing a new program that will bleed the people dry.
