INTUBATED PATIENTS

Greece recently eliminated mandatory COVID-19 vaccination and illness certificates for citizens and visiting foreign nationals. In the last 24 hours, there has been an 8.5 percentage point rise in hospital admissions.

In the last 24 hours EODY recorded 651 COVID reinfections, while it figures that that there have been 126,929 since the start of the pandemic (3.6 percent of the total number of infections).

Epidemiological data in Greece show a rapid winding down of the COVID-19 epidemic, with a market decline in the number of infections, intubated patients, and hospital admissions.

In the last 24 hours, 131 COVID-19 patients have been admitted to hospital (a marked decline, by 15.48 percentage points). For the last seven days, the average daily number of admissions is 153 patients.

In the last 24 hours, 155 COVID-19 patients have been admitted to hospital (a 15.67 percent daily increase). For the last seven days, the daily average number of admissions is 162 patients.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 29,114 COVID-19 patients have died in Greece, 95.5 percent with an underlying medical condition and/or age 70 or older.

With the COVID-19 epidemic rapidly winding down, the government announced today that it is abolishing both for Greeks and foreign visitors all European COVID-19 vaccination and illness certificates.

From 1 January, 2020 until today, laboratories nationwide that conduct COVID-19 tests and regularly report results to EODY have done 10.96mn tests. EODY health units ha examined 68.4mn samples.
