Main opposition New Democracy will continue to focus on the alleged scandal concerning a technical company owned by PM Alexis Tsipras’ brother and sister.
The main opposition is charging that the company owned by the PM’s siblings presented a forged social insurance certificate to land a million euro public contract, and that the government changed the law so that they would not stand trial.
“Yesterday, we proved, with incontrovertible evidence, that members of the Tsipras family attempted, with a forged social insurance certificate, to be awarded a public work worth 1.1mn euros,” Spyraki said.
“Today, we are asking once again. Why were they not tried in the manner that the law provides in such cases?”
“The prime minister now has a duty to offer an explanation regarding the scandal that concerns his family,” Spyraki said.
