INTUBATED PATIENTS

The total number of infections recorded by EODY since the start of the pandemic today surpassed the three million mark (3.05mn), 49.1 percent men. There was a 0.7 percentage point daily increase in the last 24 hours.

The rapid increase in the number of fully vaccinated intubated patients in ICUs is in part due to the fact that EODY registers individuals who have had only two vax jabs, and not the now necessary third booster shot, as “fully vaccinated”.

There are currently 342 intubated COVID-19 patients (63.7 percent men), with a median age of 69-years-old, and 90.9 percent have an underlying medical condition and/or are age 70 or older.

A total of 26,937 people have died of COVID-19 in Greece since the beginning of the pandemic,, and 2.79mn infections (49.3 percent men) have been confirmed.

In the last 24 hours, 345 COVID-19 patients have been admitted to hospital (a daily increase of 16.55 percentage points). For the last seven days, the average daily number of admissions is 303 patients.

Of intubated patients, 66.2 percent are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, while 33.8 percent are fully vaccinated. With the total predominance of the Omicron variant, the percentage of fully vaccinated patients on ventilators is rising rapidly.

The health ministry today cancelled its weekly, nationally televised COVID-19 briefing for the second week in a row, even as the National Public Health Organisation announced 21,863 newly infections and a 36.78 percent rise in hospital admissions.

During the pandemic, 4,289 COVID-19 patients have been released from ICUs of about 14,000 treated in one, a death rate of approximately 60 percent. EODY does not separately report the number of deaths of patients intubated outside of ICUs.

In the last 24 hours, 281 COVID-19 patients have been admitted to hospital (a daily decline of 6.02 percentage points). For the last seven days, the median daily number of admissions is 290 patients.

In the last 24 hours, 361 COVID-19 patients have been admitted to hospital (a daily decline of 2.96 percentage points). For the last seven days, the average daily number of hospital admissions is 374 patients.

There are 484 intubated COVID patients, with a median age of 66-years-old, and 86 percent have an underlying medical condition and/or are age 70 or older. 74.2 percent are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, while 25.8 percent are fully vaccinated.

In the last 24 hours, 448 COVID-19 patients have been admitted to hospital, a whopping daily rise of 30.6 percent. For the last seven days the average number of admissions daily is 394 patients
