Shocking social media messages by fans before violence at Nea Philadelphia
Greek, foreign nationals exchanged numerous social media messages before murderous hooligan attack in Nea Philadelphia
A shocked Greek society continues to follow developments this week surrounding the murder of 29-year-old fan Michalis Katsouris, who was stabbed to death on Monday evening during a violent rampage by Dinamo Zagreb hooligans.
The hooligans, who were armed with bats, crowbars, clubs and firebombs, attacked people in the vicinity around the AEK Athens stadium in the Nea Philadelphia district in northwest Athens.
As part of the ongoing investigation, several messages exchanged between the hooligans of Dinamo Zagreb and AEK fans before, during and after the bloody clash have been revealed.
One message read: “If you see 10 Croats, you fool, you will change 10 colors.”
“BBB (the Bad Blue Boys hooligans club) are undefeated on the road in recent years and travel everywhere, even amid curfews.”
“French ladies, we’re waiting for you”
“When we messaged you, however, you changed galaxies”
Some comments are from users who initially thought the victim who was stabbed is Croatian.
“Pick up the Croat from the eagle. Get your siblings together one more time and then start doing what you know.”
After a few hours had passed from the murder, a new round of messages followed, where fans of the two teams apparently want to schedule another “rumble”, which means they were completely oblivious or uncaring about the homicide committed outside the stadium.
