Niki Kerameos spoke from the floor of the Parliament about the changes that will be made in the State, the state hiring mechanism ASEP and in local government, in the context of programmatic statements. The Minister of the Interior referred in detail to the four main axes of government policy.
Specifically, she said that the priority is to place “the right person in the right position”.
The minister added that this will be achieved by speeding up recruitment through ASEP, especially for nursing staff and teachers, strengthening ASEP in resources, modernizing the selection process of heads of administration by establishing the productivity bonus.
The aim is to evaluate everywhere, in every sector of the public sphere for its more efficient operation.
What he announced about the State
The Minister of the Interior also announced a new institution, the mechanism for recording citizens’ satisfaction indicators. As far as the public sector is concerned, the minister referred to the improvement of working conditions, pointing out that public servants have not seen a raise for 14 years.
Emphasis is also placed on allowances, mainly for children but also for those in positions of responsibility. This is also linked to the new system of rewarding and motivating employees for better performance with productivity bonuses as well as rich training and skills enhancement programs for 250,000 civil servants.
What is the goal of the three pillars
The third pillar of the Ministry of Interior’s work is the removal of the country’s bureaucratic burdens, in order to free all the country’s productive forces with the aim of optimal coordination of the different levels of government.
The fourth pillar is the new supervision framework of OTAs with a monitoring mechanism for municipal projects.
