Insurance company assets in Greece at 20.8bln€ in 2021, up 3.4% yoy

Total assets of 35 insurance companies active in the Greek market increased by 3.4 percent in 2021, reaching 20.8 billion euros.
According to data in a study presented by the federation of insurance companies in Greece, the total investment of the latter is 17.4 billion, up 4 percent in 2021, compared to 2020.
Equity reached 4.4 billion euros, down -2.7 percent compared to the previous year.
Insurance provisions reached 13.3 billion euros, up 1.3 percent, with the breakdown being 10 billion euros for the life insurance sector, and 3.3 billion euros for damages provisions.
Pre-tax profits reached 450 million euros, while covered insurance claims were 2.16 billion euros – 1.54 billion euros along for life insurance policies and 620 million euros for damage claims
