Greece’s relevant tourism minister on Wednesday announced an ad campaign to boost winter tourism in the country, with an emphasis obviously focusing on mountainous destinations on the mainland.
The campaign comes on the heels of a better-than-expected summer season in the country, with most targets exceeded in a second straight pandemic-affected year.
Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias made the announcement during a virtual working meeting with the board of the national federation of hoteliers.
Among others, Kikilias, who is fresh to the post after being shifted from the health ministry, said one in four euros circulating in the Greek economy are the direct or indirect product of the tourism sector, whereas per capita expenditure visitors this year increased by 20 percent, compared to 2020.
