Greek State Budget

Despite the imponderable factor of external challenges and high inflation, growth projections facilitate a broad spectrum of reforms that could improve the lives of citizens.

One must note that although the European Commission approved the budget, at the same time it made known its concerns about delays in implementing reforms.

The projections for 2019 point to a general government surplus of 3.98 percent, as compared to the 3.5 percent target.

The government treats an issue such as pension cuts as if it concerns mainly its own political survival, rather than the lives of senior citizens.
