Earthquake in Turkey: Ankara accepted Cyprus’ offer to send a rescue team

The relevant information was made known by a post on Twitter by the press representative of the Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Republic of Cyprus was recently informed by the European Civil Protection Mechanism that the offer of Cyprus to send a rescue team was accepted by Turkey.

The press representative of the Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dimitris Dimitriou, made the relevant information known in a post on Twitter.

It is recalled that Turkey had initially rejected the relevant offer of the Republic of Cyprus.

Over 11,000 dead

The death toll from the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on Monday rose to over 11,200 dead, according to the latest official figures announced today at noon on Wednesday.

And the fear of an increase in the number of dead is more than certain as hundreds are still trapped under the debris and as the hours pass the hopes of being pulled out alive are fading.

The number of dead in Turkey has reached 8,574, as announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, while in Syria 2,662 dead have been recovered from the rubble.
