Republic of Cyprus donates 10mn euros to help wildfire victims
The Cypriot cabinet invited businesses and citizens to contribute to these disaster relief accounts
The cabinet of the Republic of Cyprus, upon the recommendation of President Nicos Anastasiades, decided that the Cypriot government will donate 10mn euros to help the survivors of the disastrous wildfires that struck Eastern Attica on 23 June.
Cypriot government spokesman Prodromos Prodromou announced that this amount will be deposited in a special account of the Central Bank. At the same time, bank accounts will also be opened at commercial banks for private donations.
The Cypriot cabinet invited businesses and citizens to contribute to these disaster relief accounts.
Prodromou said that the total amount of funding that will be collected will be earmarked for projects and actions to offer relief to the survivors, in cooperation with the Greek government.
