Evangelos Marinakis remains in the 59th position of the annual Lloyd’s List Top 100 Global Shipping List this year.

It is noted that Mr. Marinakis is in the top 100 of Lloyd’s List for the tenth consecutive year since 2010.

The same newspaper notes that «The Greek shipowner in recent years has shown a tendency for prudent business risks, with bold orders (new-build ships) as well as investigating (new) chartering for his ships.»

An important reference in Lloyd’s extensive report to the Greek shipowner and businessman is the «landmark» project, as it describes it, of ordering up to 10 new VLCC tankers using liquefied natural gas (LNG) for movement – along with fuel oil.

«Timing is the key to such investments, and so far, the Greek shipowner has shown charisma,» says Lloyd’s List.
