Deputy Minister for Social Insurance Tasos Petropoulos has confirmed that the family of fallen Air Force Captain Yorgos Baltadoros will receive a full pension.

At the same time, the Greek Parliament will undertake to “adopt” the two children of the pilot, offering full child support.

“For those who have fallen in the line of duty, the pension benefit is determined by Article 4 of law 4387/2016, which provides for the issuance of a full pension to the family of the fallen,” Petropoulos said.

Petropoulos also unleashed a withering attack on media and commentators who asserted, falsely, that the family will receive a 400 euro widow’s pension.

Baltadoros’ monthly salary was only 1,180 euros.
