Greece can and should play a stabilising role in the current crisis, as a Western country with a multi-faceted outlook in its foreign policy. A military clash in the heart of Europe is inconceivable and the territorial precarity of Ukraine is unjustifiable.
Greece, utilising its historic ties with Russia and given its role as a state at the core of the Western camp, can be one of the countries that contribute to stability.
At a time when a series of issues remain open, Greece and Russia have a certain osmosis that will continue with cooperation and communication.
Putin and Mitsotakis are to adopt a 2022-2024 joint action plan which, according to Greek government sources, will determine the basic axes of bilateral cooperation over the coming years.
Dendias underlined the significance of the joint Greece-Russia Consultations Program 2020-2022, which provides for regularly held meetings at the political level.
